Mountain Bay Airpark Inc

    Mountain Bay Airpark is a private airport located in the Pocono mountains,
 just southeast of Lake Wallenpaupack, approximately 20 miles east of the Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre airport. The airport designator is PA49. The airport has been around since the 1930's, and some story tellers claim it was used for aircraft carrier practice by F4U corsairs during WWII. The Airport is currently owned by the Mountain Bay Airpark Corporation.


    Pilots wishing to use the airport are asked to email ericasplundh@verizon.net for information.  All users must sign a liability waiver before using the airport. Should you wish to base your aircraft at Mountain Bay there is a monthly tie down fee which includes the annual user fee. 


    The airport runway is paved and is 2230 feet long (read short). There are no over runs at either end of the runway!! The airport elevation is 1500 feet. CTAF/Unicom frequency is 122.7 The runway is lighted.  Lights are pilot controlled by clicking 5 times on CTAF (122.7)frequency. Airport is located on 127 radial, 12.5NM from Lake Henry VOR (LHY). Coordinates are 4122'48" N / 7513'58" W. There are many deer in the area. A low pass prior to landing is advisable to check for deer on the runway.
